Code of ethic is a formal set of principles and guidelines designed to help professionals and organisations conduct their actions and decisions in a morally responsible and ethical way. It establishes sanders of behaviour, outling what is considered right and wrong, helps guide individuals in maintaining integrity, honesty and fairness in their interactions with others.


Definition 

A coad of ethics is a document that defines the values, responsibilities and ethical obligations of individuals and organisations, ensuring that their actions align with accepted moral and professional standards. It serves as a framework for decision-making and accountability, encouraging responsible, behaviour, preventing misconduct and promoting trust within the organization or profession and with the public. 

Key component of a coad of ethic 

  • Core ethical value

The foundations of any coad of ethics is its core values, which might include.

  • Integrity 

Acting with honesty and upholding high moral standards. 

  • Fairness 

Treating others equitably, without favouritism or prejudice. 

  • Respect 

Acknowledging the dignity and rights of all individuals. 

  • Responsibility 

Taking ownership of one's actions and their consequences.

Behavioral standards 

A code of ethics clearly defines the type of behavior that are expected and those that are prohibited.

Compliance with laws and regulations 

Ethical behaviour is closely fried to leagel compliance. The code usually emphasizes the importance of obeying all relevant laws, regulations and policies. 

Guidelines for decision making 

A code of ethics provides a decision making framework that helps individuals evaluate their choices. This framework typically asks individuals to consider.

  1. Is it leagel 
  2. Is it fair and just 
  3. Does it align with the organizations value 
  4. Could it harm anyone 
  5. Would i be comfortable it my decision was made public 


Accountability and consequences 

A well developed code of ethics outlines the consequences  for ethical violations. This ensures that individuals are held accountable for their actions.

Professional and social responsibility 

A code of ethics often emphasizes the importance of contributing positively to the organisation and society.

This code of ethic serves as a guide to uphold the values and principles that are fundamental to our organizationa. By adhering to these guidelines, we commit to conducting our actions with integrity, respect and responsibility.
